John Kincaid “Kinney” Cave, 46, and his daughter, Miss Kaylinn Ann Cave, 12,
both passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024.
Kinney was born December 30, 1977 in Yadkin County to the late James Edgar
and Kay Cave Hodge. He attended Forbush High School and worked for several
years at Unifi, Inc. of Yadkinville. He loved the outdoors and was a loving,
devoted father to his beloved daughter, Kaylinn. He enjoyed spending time with
her and especially enjoyed fishing with his daughter at Lake Hampton and always
supported her in every way possible.
Kaylinn was born June 24, 2011 in Forsyth County to John Kincaid Cave and
Michelle Mullins Cave. Kaylinn was a bright 7th grade student at Starmount
Middle School. She enjoyed spending time with her dad fishing. Her true passion
was baking and cooking and she was on her way to becoming a future world
renown chef.
Kinney was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bobby Gray (Frances) Hoots,
Sr., and Crawley (Phoebe) Cave. He is survived by his brother,
Kelly James Cave and wife, Lori; and his sister, Cynthia M. Burcham;
aunts and uncles, Timothy Ray (Judy) Hoots and Bobby G. (Patti) Hoots, Jr.;
and several cousins and friends.
Kaylinn was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Bobby Gray (Frances) Hoots,
Sr., and Crawley (Phoebe) Cave. She is survived by
her uncle, Kelly James Cave and wife, Lori; her aunts, Cynthia M. Burcham,
Bertha Mullins (Tim) Scott; great-aunt and great-uncle, Timothy Ray (Judy) Hoots,
Bobby G. (Patti) Hoots, Jr. ; and several cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville,
Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 2:00 PM till 4:00 PM. A celebration of life for
Kinney and Kaylinn will follow the visitation at 4:00 PM in the Gentry Family
