Kirk Bednar Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services of East Alabama, Inc. - Anniston on Dec. 15, 2025.
Kirk Dalton Bednar passed on December 6, 2025 in Jacksonville, Alabama at the young age of thirty. He was born in Lake Jackson, Texas on May 5, 1995. He spent most of his life in Trussville, AL. He was an immeasurably kind and patient man, with the biggest heart one could have. He served for ten years in the Army National Guard, making it to a Sergeant E5, using his skills as a medic to help others when they needed it most. He was always the man you wanted around in case of an emergency to keep a level head and to comfort others. He spent his life constantly learning and teaching others, as he believed the pursuit of knowledge is a gift of responsibility. His tool collection rivaled that of a master mechanic, and his personal library was equally as well curated. Being outside with friends and family was where Dalton was happiest, showing us beautiful waterfalls and teaching us about camping and wildlife. He was so wonderfully goofy and could always make people laugh. His laugh was infectious, and will be so horribly missed.

He is lovingly remembered in life by his mother Michele Bednar, grandmother Elaine Martinez, grandparents Kirk and Jokay Bednar, brother Dustin Traynor, sister Hannah Pettry, brother in law Steven Pettry, niece Lily Pettry, step mother Tera Bednar, step father Bobby Belrose, step sister Riley Raley, and girlfriend Kayla Ryckman. Other beloved family members include Lisa McClellan, Tod Johnson, Erica Thornton, and all of the Martinez family in Texas. He is preceded in death by his father Kirk Neil Bednar and grandfather Graciano "Rocky" Martinez, Jr. He was the best friend you could have. He will be missed wholeheartedly by all who knew him, and unfortunately absent from those who didn't.

Visitation will be at 12:00 followed by a memorial service at 1:00 on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Services will be at 733 White Plains Road, Anniston AL 36207 in the Magnolia House.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the organization Stop Soldier Suicide at https://stopsoldiersuicide.org
