Kitty E Collins

Kitty E. Collins, age 59, of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025 at Highland District Hospital. She was born the daughter of the late Raymond and Norma Jean Howland on July 13, 1966 in Hillsboro. Kitty will be remembered as a loving, family-centered woman whose greatest joy came from the people she held close. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life, and she never missed a chance to shower them with affection. She shared a special bond with her sister and best friend, with whom she could talk for hours, laugh, reminisce, and find comfort through every season of life. Kitty treasured her family deeply and gathering together. Kitty worked for many years at Candle-Lite, where she was known for her dedication and steady work ethic. Her warmth, kindness, and love for the people around her leave an imprint that will be felt for years to come. Kitty's family and friends will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ernest Collins; five children, Amanda (Geoff) Miyashiro, Shawn Watson, Steve Collins, Kip Watson, Curtis (Elizabeth) Watson; grandchildren, Jasmine Collins, Conner Collins, Bentley Watson, Kaitlin Miyashiro, Jace Watson, Braxton Watson, Liam Miyashiro, Kaidence Watson, Quentin Watson, and Kylee Watson; siblings, Verda Smith, Tony Howland, and Janet Murphy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kathy Wallach, Dave Higgins, and Laura Sue; many nieces and nephews; family members, Dick and Jackie Gray; and close friends, Terry Fields and Tina Powell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gary Howland, Linda Howland, James Howland, Layton Howland, and Sue Blair; and sister-in-law, Sharon Higgins. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm at Davis-Turner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Barnes Cemetery.
