While training in Dallas for American Airlines our sweet Kody suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at the age of 44.

Kody was born on March 28, 1978, in Ogden Utah. Kody is the loving and loyal son to Dave and Janette Larsen Smith. He has always been loved tremendously by his parents and family. His contagious smile and ability to run the show started young. His two sisters Jennifer and Brittney will attest to this. Kody was also very determined to finish anything he started. He was an Eagle Scout and a Student Body Officer. He always looked forward to his summers when he got to spend time with his beloved Grandpa and Grandma Larsen in Clinton Utah. Kody had an amazing talent for anything with a board. Skateboarding, snowboarding and wakeboarding were just a few. He was obsessed with Techno Music before it was cool and shared his favorites constantly.

Kody met his Loving wife Annie Baxter on their first day of High School in 1993. They were Married on August 22, 1998. They have three beautiful daughters Madison, Sydney and London. He loved wearing his shirt that read "I have three daughters you can't scare me!" Annie and the girls are what brought him the most joy.

Kody was always looking for adventure and new challenges. This eventually took the family to Austin Texas in 2014. Kody loved everything about Texas. The Lake life and Music Festivals especially. He often tried talking Family and Friends into migrating as well. Kody wanted everyone to see what a great place we had come to and wanted to share it.

He has always loved baseball. Playing on a "Red Sox" team growing up and then becoming a true Forever Boston Red Sox fan. He shared this love with Annie and their Girls. Fenway Park was one of his favorite places to visit. Kody worked summers at the age of 14, he continued to work summers until he could work full time after graduation.

Kody worked his way from Flight Instructor at Bountiful Airpark to Check Airman with Skywest in Houston. He had just been hired on by American Airlines and was training to be a First Officer on the 737. He made a lasting impression throughout his career on his fellow pilots, crew members, Gate Agents, Scheduling agents and many more. He always brought out the best in everyone with his quick wit and positive attitude. He gave it his very best every day. Always dressed to impress at work and at home.

Kody was forever grateful for all friendships throughout his short life. The time and efforts training at Austin Simply fit, the Marathon and working on Toyotas was priceless to him.

Kody hated the phrase "I can't!" He LOVED wearing TICDA apparel and hoping it inspired others. Trying to live by this motto himself every day.

TICDA-TODAY I CAN DO ANYTHING!

Kody will be greatly missed and has left a big hole in our hearts. We are bound by our love, and his legacy will go on. Until we meet again sweetheart Kody. Until we meet again.

I´m in shock to hear about Kody. We flew together at SkyWest and I was always excited when I saw his name on my schedule . He was one of the most positive genuine people I´ve ever met . He´ll be missed .
