Kristi Ann (Shadrick) Pottichen, 60, of Standish Street, Plattsburgh, died Thursday, April 24, 2025, at her home.
She was born in Plattsburgh, March 1, 1965, the daughter of Loren and Geraldine (Keenan) Shadrick.
Kristi and Barry M. Pottichen were married on December 20, 2003 in Peru; her uncle Peter Keenan performed the ceremony.
Kris graduated from Mount Assumption Institute, class of 1983. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Troy State University Alabama and was working toward a PhD in Child and Adolescent Psychology when she became disabled with Lupus.
Kristi co-authored the book The Bee Gees: Tales of the Brothers Gibb, she wrote the chapters on Andy Gibb.
She worked as a child and adolescent counselor for troubled girls in Columbus, GA.
Kristi enjoyed volunteering for Cause for Paws when she was able. She was always willing to lend an ear or helping hand; she would go the extra mile to help anyone in need. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 20 Ladies Auxiliary.
Left to cherish the memory of Kristi is her spouse, Barry; mother, Gerry Shadrick; brother, Daniel Lee and wife, Kelly; nephews, William J., Daniel J., and Sean P. Shadrick; her parents-in-law, David and Wendy (Matthews) Pottichen; brother-in-law, Lee (Karen) Pottichen; sister-in-law, Lorraine (Donald) Foley; nieces and nephews, Josh, Daniel, Siera, Justin, Lyla, Dera, and Matthew Nelson; uncles, J. Edward and Michael Keenan; aunt, Ruth Shadrick Beard; and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her father, Loren E. Shadrick, January 17, 2014.
There will be no public calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 11 am at St. Augustine's Church in Peru. Committal prayers and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. A reception will follow the burial, in the parish center.
Donations in memory of Kristi may be made to Autism Alliance of NE NY or Cause for Paws.
