Edward Benedict Pottichen, aged 69, passed away on July 20, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA, where he was also born on February 10, 1955. Edward's life was marked by his deep commitment to education and community service. He attended Immaculate Conception in Jenkintown, PA for his primary education, followed by LaSalle College High School and LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA, where he furthered his education and laid the groundwork for his future endeavors.
Edward is survived by his husband, Paul Robinson; his brother, Patrick Pottichen and wife, Carol; his sisters, D. Jane Maloney, Maureen Anderson, and Patrice Pottichen; as well as eight nieces and nephews, and twenty-three great/grand-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Edward and brother, Richard Pottichen.
Ed worked for Daniel J. Keating Co. and then for Collins and Collins Mechanical Company until his retirement as a Member of Local 420. Ed was also an expert crossword puzzle enthusiast and a reservoir of knowledge relating to the arts, music, history, politics, philosophy, etc. He was totally devoted to his husband, Paul; their mutual respect and admiration was admired by all. They loved to travel with a keen appreciation and respect for cultural differences.
Edward's commitment to his family, his unwavering friendships, and his dedication to helping those in need will be deeply missed and forever cherished by those who knew him. A man of caring and generosity, Edward was an active supporter of various causes. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edward's memory may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Food Pantry, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Brant Beach, NJ 08008 www.stfranciscenterlbi.org/food-pantry
Memorial Service will be on Sunday, August 25, 2:30 pm at 2 Franklin Town Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
