Kristofer D Rennard

Kristofer Dana Rennard lived courageously. 

Kristofer was diagnosed with terminal cancer in August 2011 (given 6mo.). He left us on May 24, 2014 at the age of 43.

He faced his prognosis head-on with his decision to forgo medical treatment. He would not take so much as an aspirin. With his unwavering faith he chose to live every precious moment to the fullest.

He was an avid cyclist, trading in his love for fast cars and motorcycles for his cause to better the environment.

Kris's own written words: "I believe that strength comes from food, so I have avoided all medication, even aspirin, for the past 10 years. Regardless of how absolutely, ridiculously dangerous it is to cycle here in Austin, Texas, I've continues to do so for the past 10 years because I believe it not only helps to strengthen me mentally, physically and spiritually, but also because it helps to strengthen the planet by not emitting large amounts of burnt fuel into the atmosphere. I haven't owned a car in 10 years. It's out of choice. I believe it is absolutely essential that we take full advantage of clean and renewable energy sources available. This I believe would be looking out for our children, our children's children, ourselves and the rest of God's creation." -K.D.R.

Kristofer challenged his progressing cancer by racing in the Hotter Than Hell 100 (100 kilometers=62.14 miles) in Wichita Falls, Texas in August 2013. Kris had a large following. Kristofer's following championed him on for taking on this tough challenge which was hardcore for a healthy person. He was an icon of the Steiner Ranch Community in Austin, Texas. 

Kristofer was a talented guitarist and speed was the natural form to express the pace and control of his rapidly flowing mind with his instrument. He was an awe-inspiring performer. 

Kristofer was a talented visual artist as well. His remarkable gift won him National Awards as a young adolescent. He embraced his love of art by continually creating his lifelong originality.

Kristofer's written word, " When a person has good intentions in their heart, all of the other qualities are very important, but a very distant second."

Kristofer Dana is survived by his mother Evelyn, father Don, brother Jon, and sister-in-law Jennifer Rennard.

Kristofer was laid to rest at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane, Washington.
