Kristopher Donald Talaga

Kristopher Donald Talaga, age 34, originally from Grand Haven MI, passed away on September 25, 2025, after courageously battling an ongoing illness. He was born on December 1, 1990, to Jeffrey Talaga and Kimberly (LeBica) Dutmers. Kristopher will be remembered for his early love of sports and outdoor activities growing up in Grand Haven. He played soccer, baseball, and learned downhill skiing at an early age, and enjoyed fishing with his father and older brother Jared. During his High School years, he excelled at competitive sports including soccer, downhill skiing, and tennis. He loved competing in skim boarding competitions at the Grand Haven city beach and ski jumping at Mulligans Hollow. During his later years he loved weight training, cycling, and making perfect protein smoothies. Often you would find him in the kitchen whipping up his favorite rice-crispy treats or sugar cookies. He touched the lives of those around him with his kindness, humor, and general good-hearted nature that became the hallmark of Kris's personality. He is survived by his father, Jeffrey Talaga; his mother, Kimberly Dutmers, and her husband, Steven Dutmers; his brother, Jared Talaga, and Jared's partner, Caroline Michniak; his maternal grandfather, Donald LeBica; his uncle, Kirk LeBica, and aunt, Karen Shaffer; cousins, and other family members and friends. Kristopher's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. May eternal light shine upon him and may his memory always be a blessing. Services will be held at St. Patrick Church of St. Patrick - St. Anthony Parish, 920 Fulton St., Grand Haven, MI on October 6, 2025 starting with visitation at 10 am in the narthex of the church followed by a Catholic mass at 11 am. Lunch will be served after mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Reach for Recovery Chester A. Ray Center for Men, 483 Century Lane, Holland MI 49423.
