Krystyna Teresa Kosakowski

Krystyna Kosakowski, 69, of New Britain, beloved wife of Stefan Kosakowski, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 24, 2026.

Krystyna was born May 20, 1956 in Ostróda, Poland and was the daughter of the late Michal and Genowefa (Cesnowska) Szylobryt. Krystyna graduated from Pulaski High School and Tunxis Community College Class of 1979. She was a steel saleswoman for many years as well as a business owner.

Krystyna loved music, especially the band Journey. She loved gardening and caring for her plants, camping, beach trips, movies, and was most happy spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her faithful dog Sammy, and her cats Bandit, Duchess and Prince.

Krystyna loved her family very much. In addition to Stefan her husband of 37 years, she leaves behind her loving children, Jessica Kosakowski and Steven Kosakowski both of New Britain. Her brothers Jerry Szylobryt and his wife Carole of Elloree, South Carolina and Jonathan Szylobryt and his partner Vivian Bielski of Brooksville, Florida in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors and nurses at Hartford Healthcare who helped in her care for her the last 5 years.
