Kurt Richard Hanke,
resident of Greenwood and devoted husband of Karin Louise Bentien Hanke, passed
away on Friday, August 1, 2025, at NHC of Greenwood.
Born in Berlin,
Germany, he was the son of August and Auguste Kruger Hanke. After graduating
from Albion High School in Albion, Michigan, Kurt honorably served his country
in the United States Air Force. Upon returning from service, he spent many
years working at Harvard Industries in Albion before retiring.
In addition to his
loving wife Karin, Kurt is survived by his stepsons Dean Nolte of Akron, OH,
and Andre Nolte (Sherry) of Bluffton, SC; and three step-grandchildren,
Madeleine, Lorelyn, and Garrett Nolte. He was predeceased by his parents and
his sister, Ursula Hanke Davy.
No services are
planned at this time. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of the Piedmont.
