It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our beloved Kurt Lundquist, who left us on February 15th, 2025 surrounded by those who loved him most. Kurt was deeply loved by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
Kurt had a passion for life. He loved playing drums, woodworking, and had a lifelong fascination with airplanes and aviation. His love for music, especially bands like Rush, The Who, and other legends with incredible drummers, was something he shared with everyone around him. He also enjoyed fishing and found peace in the outdoors.
Above all, Kurt was extremely proud of his two children, Tara and Drew. He supported their passions with an open heart-Tara's involvement in mermaiding and the performing arts (Up With People), and Drew's love for playing bass guitar and his incredible talent as a photographer. Kurt cherished his parents and brother Russell dearly and took great joy in raising Tara and Drew alongside their mother, Vicki.
Kurt will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us-we are doing well and staying close to each other through this difficult time.
Kurt's funeral service will be held at sea in the presence of his close family. Last July, Kurt and his family honored the memory of his parents by spreading their ashes in the waters near Dana Point Harbor. To commemorate his life, we will retrace our steps and lay him to rest alongside them on his birthday, July 23rd, 2025.
With love,
The Lundquist Family
