Kurt Lutz, a lifelong resident of Barker, NY died unexpectedly on December 6, 2025, at the age of 60.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Kerth) and his son, Seth, Brother Jeffrey; mother-in-law Janet Kerth; sisters in law Jessica (Travis) Morrell, Shannon (Rick) Kimber and brother-in-law Shane (Nicole) Kerth. Nieces and nephews, Jami (Justin) Tocco, Kaitlyn, Ignotius and Hendrix Morrell, Kaitlyn and Lucas Kimber, and Aurora and Kane Kerth; great nephews Jayden Jordan, Jaxson and Joseph, Aunt Joann Lutz and several cousins. Kurt is predeceased by his parents Richard and Loma Lutz.
Kurt graduated from Barker High School in 1983 and NCCC in 1986. Kurt married his wife Jennifer in 1996 and welcomed their son Seth in 1999. Kurt was a machinist for over 40 years. One of his proudest moments was his employment at Sumitomo Rubber in Tonawanda, NY for a short while until the plant closed in 2024. He was a proud union member. He was a member of St. Andrews Church in Burt, NY and volunteered weekly their Lenten Fish Frys for several years. Kurt was an avid collector and fan of antique farm all and Cub Cadet tractors. He also loved learning history, especially local history. Many family vacations were spent at tractor shows and historical sites. Kurt helped wherever he could and would help anybody. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
Calling hours are at Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. in Newfane, NY on Friday December 19, 2025, from 3-7pm. A private burial will be held at a later date.
