Charles Lyndaker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. - Newfane on Feb. 23, 2026.
Charles Elmer Lyndaker, of Barker, New York, passed at his home on February 12,

2026 at the age of 68.

Charles "Chuckie or Charlie" was born July 12, 1957, in Lowville, New York. He is

survived by his five sisters: Cheri (Brewster) Schenck of Poway, California; Colleen

(Martin) Padilla of Barker, New York; Claudia (John) Krider of Huntington, Indiana;

Connie (Kevin) Schmidt of Lowville, New York; Christa (Daniel) Tuttle of Farmington,

New York; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his

parents, Elmer and Elsie Lyndaker, and his two sisters, Cheryl Kirbis and Carole Opett.

Charles graduated from Barker Central High School in 1975 and continued working on

the family dairy farm, building his own home near the farm a couple years later. In 1989,

he purchased the farm upon his dad's retirement and became the sole owner and

operator of Lyn-Crest Dairy Farm. He made more improvements to the farm, the land,

and the Holstein herd, milking upwards of 60 cows by himself on a pipeline system for

many years.

Charles was fiercely independent; he took full responsibility for himself and his affairs;

he was excellent in his work. Continuing in the tradition of his father and great-

grandfather, he built many intricate and beautiful pieces of inlaid wood furniture, a

process that began on his own land--felling trees and sawing them into lumber in the

farm's sawmill, then planing that lumber into boards in his workshop. He restored many

antique cars, tractors, and trucks and cleverly designed unique vehicles from scratch,

visually creating and building them first in his mind.

He was a farmer. A builder. A welder. A machine operator. A logger. A cat dad. Above

all, Charles was a man of honor and integrity. He was a good neighbor, a good friend,

and a good brother. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

A family memorial will be planned at a future date.
