Kurt Edward Mueller, 84, of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, MA. Born on February 17, 1940, in New York, NY, Kurt lived a life filled with love, dedication, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Kurt spent most of his adult life working for Johnson Wax, where he held the position of Key Account Manager. Throughout his career, he formed close, lifelong relationships with both co-workers and clients. His warmth and professionalism earned him the respect of many, including the owners of the companies he called on, who would personally meet with him rather than delegate to subordinates, due to the close personal relationships he fostered. Kurt often joked that an afternoon "devoted to advertising" was code for golfing with a Johnson Wax logo ball, which would frequently become misplaced-allowing others to find it and unknowingly promote the company!
Before joining Johnson Wax, Kurt worked at Orlando's Market in Shrewsbury, MA, after high school, and later at Prudential Insurance.
His early experiences shaped his strong work ethic and lifelong commitment to building meaningful relationships. Kurt valued his friendships, maintaining and building close personal relationships that he held dear over the decades. He built a community of friends that became friends among friends, enriching his life with a circle of lasting connections.
A lover of the outdoors, Kurt was an avid golfer, boater, fisherman, and gardener. These hobbies brought him great joy, and he cherished sharing them with family and friends. Kurt had an early love for being on the water, participating as Coxswain for the Shrewsbury High School Crew Team and enjoying waterskiing as a young man on Lake Quinsigamond in Shrewsbury, MA.
Kurt's dedication extended beyond his personal and professional life-he was an active member of the Falmouth community. He served on the Falmouth Fireworks and Christmas Parade committees and was a devoted coach for hockey and Little League baseball. In recent years, Kurt co-founded the Wednesday Senior Luncheon, a gathering of local men in Falmouth to meet, share their lives, discuss current events, and build friendships.
Kurt is survived by his ex-wife, Elizabeth Mueller; his son, Kurt Mueller Jr. of Waquoit, MA; and his daughter, Heidi Mueller Waite of Concord, NH. He was a beloved grandfather to Brooke and Summer Mueller, and Hannah, Sarah, and Harry Waite. "Pup-Pup," as Kurt was affectionately known, was at the heart of any occasion. His family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them, offering his wisdom, humor, and boundless love.
Kurt was the only child of Kurt Maximillian and Marie (D'Agosino) Mueller, who passed before him. His laughter, generosity, and love for life will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be held at Chapman Funeral and Cremations, 584 Route 28A, West Falmouth, on Friday, October 4th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday, October 5th, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 46 Jones Road, Falmouth, MA.
