Kurtis "Kurt" Depue passed away on January 19, 2025. At age 61, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love. Born on March 29, 1963, Kurt was the cherished son of the late Ron and Anne Depue. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, friend, and made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Kurt is survived by his adoring wife of 43 years, Julie Depue, who was also his high school sweetheart. Their love was one of companionship and devotion. He demonstrated his love for her in countless ways every single day. He will also be deeply missed by his children, Brian Depue and his partner Mary Ruth, and Amanda Depue and her wife Natalia Diaz. Kurt's memory will be treasured by his siblings Robert Depue, James Depue, Lottie Depue, Kristi Zemaitis and her husband Richard, and Rhonda Diamond and her husband Mitch, all of whom will remember him as a source of quiet strength and unwavering support.
Kurt proudly served his country for 13 years in the United States Air Force, a commitment that exemplified his patriotism and sense of duty. Following his military career, he demonstrated his expertise and work ethic as a Controls Engineer for Michelin, where he dedicated over 20 years. His colleagues respected him not only for his professional skills but also for his integrity and reliability.
Those who knew Kurt were touched by his dry sense of humor, which brought smiles and often well-meaning groans. He was a man of few words, but the ones he spoke carried weight. He always sought to be good to his word, a trait that earned him the deep respect of all who knew him.
Kurt's interests were a reflection of his character. He loved his family fiercely and was a pillar of strength and love for them. His quiet demeanor belied a profound kindness; he never let life's challenges disturb his calm, compassionate approach to living. He was the kind of person who made the world a better place simply by being in it.
As a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kurt's faith was a cornerstone of his life. His spiritual commitment was evident in the way he lived: with honesty, kindness, and a commitment to doing what was right.
Kurt's life was a testament to the principles he held dear. His memory will be a beacon of the love and integrity he embodied.
His absence will be felt by many, but the influence of his life's work, the love he shared, and the values he instilled in his family will continue on. His was a life well-lived, and while he will be profoundly missed, the memories he created will be cherished forever.
A Memorial Service for Kurt will be at 2:00PM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Social Circle with Reverend Leah Cunningham officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation at 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the church prior to the service. The family ask that everyone wear their favorite T-shirt in honor of Kurt.
