Matthew Dale DePue, 57, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, in Edwardsburg, Michigan.
Matthew was born on October 30, 1967 in Marshall County to Lawrence DePue and Iva Jean (Smith) DePue.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence DePue.
Left to cherish the memory of Matthew is his loving wife, Graceanna (Krueger) DePue; children, Aaron (Liz) DePue, Andrew (Chantel) DePue, Carrie (Deny) White, Carin (Timothy) Marx, and Crystal (Brian) Buchanan; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; mother, Iva Jean DePue; niece, Grace (Cory) Keen; nephew, Ethan Herne, and sister, Laura (Mark) Herne.
A true family man at heart, Matthew's greatest passion was his family, which he cherished above all else in the world. His boundless love and devotion to his spouse, children, and grandchildren were the cornerstone of his happy and fulfilled life.
Known for his huge heart, Matthew was the epitome of kindness and generosity. His caring and giving nature was felt by everyone he encountered, and his support knew no bounds. He was truly everyone's rock-a solid, dependable presence in the lives of his family and friends. To know Matthew was to know laughter; his quick wit and ability to be a jokester brought smiles to even the most ordinary of days.
An avid outdoorsman, Matthew relished the tranquility of nature whether he was casting a line into the water or patiently waiting in a hunting stand. These quiet moments communing with nature were only rivaled by the joy he felt watching sports, especially his beloved Michigan football teams. His enthusiastic cheers and playful rivalries with friends and family were the highlight of many gatherings.
Beyond these passions, nothing brought Matthew more joy than watching his grandchildren compete in their various sports. The pride in his eyes was unmistakable, and his unwavering support from the sidelines will remain an inspiring memory for his family.
Matthew's legacy is as generous and loving as his spirit. His absence will be deeply felt, but the warmth of his memory will continue to inspire kindness and laughter in the hearts of those he touched. He lived a life full of the things that mattered most-friendship, family, and love-and for that, his life was a victory well celebrated.
In keeping with Matthew's wishes, there will be no services held at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home.
