A celebration of life gathering for Kyle Adams, 54, of Des Moines, will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home, 914 Roland Ave,
Chariton, IA 50049. Memorials may be made to Kyle's family and will be designated at a later date to some of his many passions.
Kyle Stuart Adams was born July 23, 1971, in
Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Gary and Verla Adams. Due to Gary's work, the family moved often, and Kyle attended school in Ankeny, Des Moines, and Windom, Minnesota. He ultimately graduated from Sheldon High School in Sheldon, Iowa, with the class of 1989.
Growing up alongside his brothers, Greg and Eric, Kyle was full of fun and mischief. He was known for his quick wit, social nature, and talent for entertaining others-sometimes at the expense of classroom discipline. While schoolwork was not always his favorite, he thrived in activities he loved, especially the FFA program during high school. Kyle shared a particularly close bond with his grandpa, Roberts, and through that relationship developed a lifelong love of farming. He spent time working alongside his grandpa in southern Iowa, raising Black Angus cattle--something he fondly remembered and hoped to return to again one day.
Kyle dedicated his working career to Hy-Vee, where he managed departments in numerous stores across several states. He began his career in Worthington, Minnesota, and eventually returned to the Des Moines area, where he was currently serving as the seafood department manager. His strong work ethic and outgoing personality made him a natural leader and a valued colleague.
Kyle had a deep love for animals and was especially devoted to his dogs-Ube, Pugsly, Baker, and Birdie. He also enjoyed collecting vintage toys and lunch boxes and found joy in camping and the outdoors.
Above all, Kyle loved his family. He was a devoted father who adored his children and cherished his nieces and nephews, proudly earning the title of the "over-the-top uncle." His generosity and playful spirit were well known. One favorite family memory recalled by his daughter Kylie is of her kindergarten lunches-always packed with a huge sandwich, a full-size candy bar, and freezer pops, impressing Kylie, not so much her teacher. His nieces and nephews were spoiled with toys and laughter, and his presence made every gathering brighter.
Kyle passed away on January 26, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Verla Adams, and his infant twin brother, Kurt.
Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Gary Adams; his children, Kurt (Leah) Adams and Kylie Adams; grandchildren: Bowen and Lyla; his best friend and companion, Jamie Adams; his brothers, Greg Adams and Eric (Kayla) Adams; his brother-in-law, Jason (Rachel) Squier; his nieces and nephews: Chet, Sam, Olive, Carter Kay, Gavin, Raine, and Natalie; along with many other relatives and friends.
Kyle will be remembered for his big heart, quick humor, and the love he shared so freely with those around him.
