ALBANY - Kyle T. Brace, 60, passed away on June 5, 2024. A service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11 a.m., at Wilborn Temple COGIC, 121 Jay St., Albany. Visitation will take place 9-11 a.m. before the service. To leave a special message for the family visit www.NewComerAlbany.com

My Aunt Kyle's absence is confusing. Every day, there is a profound disbelief and an exhale of grief. I do mean every day. I even caught myself saying "wait what the ####?!" I miss you. It is inexplicable. My Aunt my whole life. We are only 6 years apart.

Kyle is missed by all of us as we extend our condolences to her children, her sisters and brothers, and her extended family, friends and colleagues from the Assembly.
Kyle was a wonderful next door neighbor and friend. Our families bought our houses on Myrtle within a month of each other over 20 years ago. Kyle always had an "it takes a village" attitude for our block, whether it was waving down private plow owners after a huge snowstorm and paying them to clear other people's sidewalks, helping folks keep up their lawns or making sure when new neighbors moved to the block, they understood that it wasn't OK to blast music that could be heard by the rest of us. The one thing Kyle wasn't happy about was how when we first moved here, it was a tree-lined street, but now most of the trees were gone. She talked about this to everyone, complained enough to our Council Member that the City held a press conference on our block a few years ago to announce a tree planting program. Fifteen new trees, which we have dubbed "Kyle's trees," were finally planted on our block a few weeks after she passed away. We are sad that she didn't get to see how her efforts paid off, and are grateful for all she gave to our community.
