Obituary
Wharton: Kyle M. Dorr passed away, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Morristown Medical Center. He was 51 years of age. He is now at peace after a short but tough battle with cancer.
Kyle was born in Dover and was a lifelong Wharton resident.
Kyle was the Chief at the Morris County Juvenile Detention Center holding all ranks, retiring in 2023 as Chief.
He was an Exempt Fireman and a 30 year member of the Wharton Fire Department, Active Hose Company, serving as Chief 3 times and recently elected for the 2023 year. He was also a Life Member of the State Relief Association.
Kyle was a skilled craftsman and artisan. There was nothing he couldn't fix or build. He enjoyed making artistic and practical items out of unusual materials.
Predeceased by his parents and his brother Bobby.
Survived by his wife of 21 years, Jennifer O'Malley-Dorr.
His daughter, Shannon.
Sister: Christiana Dorr.
Also survived by Nieces, Nephews and Cousins and many close friends.
Visitation will be held 4-8pm at the Bermingham Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Wharton with a Fireman's service at 7pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
