Kyle Evan Hostetler, 19, of Carmel, passed away in the family home on Thursday, January 1, 2026. He was born on May 19, 2006 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Kyle was a student at Purdue University, where he was studying engineering design to become a real-world problem-solver. His favorite project was designing and building a 3D-printed, robotic prosthetic hand, for which he got a scholarship. He loved cats and fixing up cars with his friends-some he'd had since Kindergarten. He enjoyed computer gaming and also playing bass guitar.
Kyle was a kind soul who felt things very deeply. He was loved very much by his family and friends-who all wish they'd told him more often and hugged him one more time.
He is survived by his parents, Christopher and Ivy Hostetler; sister, Lily Hostetler; grandparents, Mary L. Hostetler and Thomas and Debbie Haseman; aunts, KC (Jeff) Tatum and Ashe Rippy; uncle, Dean Haseman; and many cousins, including Duncan Rippy, his gaming buddy since middle school.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harvey L. Hostetler.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the funeral home with an additional time of visitation starting at 11:00 am.
In honor of his love of cats and rescued dogs, memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038, www.hamiltonhumane.com
