Kyle P. Taylor, age 88, of Abingdon, Virginia, went to be with his Lord and Savior in the morning hours of August 3, 2024. He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Rosie, and his 27 siblings.
He was resourceful, creative, hard-working, and an ever-loyal friend and farmer, gardener, miner, and man of few, but always meaningful, words. He retired from USG Corporation after 40 years of service.
Those cherishing his memory are his son, Larry Taylor and wife Gina; his daughter, Sally Blackburn and husband Bob; his grandchildren, Jason Taylor and Alexis, Connor, Grant, and Lucas Pennings, and his great-grandchildren, Calvin and Hudson, whom he dearly loved.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the staff of Johnston Memorial Hospital as they cared for him in his final hours.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 5, 2024 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Serenity Gardens Mausoleum at Forest Hills Memory Gardens with Dalton Elliott officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Bordwine, David O'Quinn, Stacy Taylor, Connor Pennings, Grant Pennings, and Lucas Pennings. Honorary pallbearer is Doug O'Quinn.
