Kyriacoula Vidalis

Kyriacoula Vidalis, a beacon of strength and generosity, passed away on December 9th, 2023, after a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma. Born in Athens, Greece, on October 18, 1945, to Panagiotis and Maria Hahalis, Kyriacoula's indomitable spirit and compassionate heart touched everyone she met throughout her 78 years of life.Kyriacoula's journey was one of love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was the devoted wife of Gabriel Vidalis for 56 remarkable years-a partnership that stood as a testament to commitment and mutual support. Together, they embarked on a new life in the United States, bringing with them little more than their dreams and a shared suitcase. Their love and dedication to each other were the cornerstone upon which they built a beautiful family, including their cherished children Eleni, Maria, and Demetrios.
As a loving mother, Kyriacoula instilled values of hard work and kindness in her children, Eleni and her husband Konstantinos Patsaouras, Maria and her fiancé Elias Ghazali, and Demetrios. She was the proud Giagia of Kyriacoula, Nikolas and Maria-Angelica Patsaouras, Fotini Vidalis and her companion Willy Arias, Gabriel D., and Zachary L. Vidalis, and the adored great-grandmother of Alexander and Andrew Arias. Her siblings, Christina Palioglou and Nicholas Hahalis with his wife Marie, shared in the joy and warmth of her extended family, which included many relatives and friends both in the United States and back home in Greece.
Kyriacoula's entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she became a female business owner in Boston, starting in the early 1970s. Her ventures-Valet Cleaners, Olympic Pizza, and Neighborhood Convenience Store-thrived for over 30 years due to her tireless dedication and the support of her family. She was a role model for immigrants and women alike, proving that with determination and hard work, dreams can indeed become reality. Her business acumen was matched only by her unwavering faith. Kyriacoula's passion for her faith was so profound that she and Gabriel built a chapel dedicated to the Archangels on their property in Greece, creating a sanctuary of peace and spirituality. This chapel stands as a legacy of their devotion and serves as a place of solace and prayer for many. Kyriacoula Vidalis was the embodiment of generosity, selflessness, and courage. Her life was a narrative of overcoming adversity, embracing challenges, and always putting others before herself. Her story reminds us all that "The only limit to our realization of tomorrow will be our doubts of today." This inspiring quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt encapsulates the philosophy by which Kyriacoula lived her life. As we remember Kyriacoula, let us celebrate the immeasurable impact she had on the world. Her legacy is etched not only in the successful businesses she built and the beautiful chapel that stands in Greece but in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory serves as a guiding light, encouraging each of us to live with the same tenacity, kindness, and love that she demonstrated every day.
Visiting hours will be held Friday (12/15) at 10 AM at St John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 15 Union Park Street, Boston (South End) followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery, relatives and friends respectfully invited. Please, in lieu of flowers all donations can be made to the "Kyriacoula Vidalis Memorial Scholarship Fund" with check made payable to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox
