Kyriel Nickolas Donald Hansen

Kyriel Nickolas Donald Hansen, Montrose, CO, 29, entered eternal rest from injuries sustained in a serious car accident January 23, 2024 in Montrose, CO. Kyriel was born in Ukraine, 12/11/1994, and came to the US with his adoptive parents, Jeff and Tammy Hansen, at 6 years of age. Kyriel along with his other newly adopted brother, Andrew, became one family with their sister, Chelsea, mom & dad. Kyriel and Andrew entered kindergarten in Brookfield, WI the 2nd half of the school year without knowing English. They both picked up English and advanced into 1st grade in the Fall on schedule with the other kids of their class. Kyriel was very creative, had an expansive imagination, and excelled in art and drawing. He also loved to be outdoors, playing in the woods, and running free. Kyriel pursued his love for running throughout his life in cross country and track and continued after high school. Kyriel loved his family, people, and all animals, maybe sometimes animals more so than people. He once fancied himself as a wolf. As he grew into a young adult, he continued his "wanderlust" attitude and lifestyle in Wisconsin, Arizona, and ultimately moving to the place of his dreams, Colorado. Sadly, his life ended too early to fulfill them. Kyriel's sharp wit and loving attitude will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Kyriel is survived by his mother and father, Tammy and Jeff Hansen, sister Chelsea Hansen (Fiancé Nick Pancrazi, son Ace), brother Andrew (Megan) Hansen, grandmother Jolyn Keskinen, Godparents Steve and Lisa Hansen, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles Keskinen and Don and Ginny Hansen.
A Funeral service will be held at St. Dominic's Catholic Parish 18255 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI on Thursday, February 1st, 2024, at 4:30 p.m. A visitation will be held before the service from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kyriel's memory may be made to Save the Children to help children in Ukraine and Ukraine refugees as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine, or to the Humane Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).
