L. Leon Chapman, 83, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on October 9, 1942 to James and Jeanetta (Lawless) Chapman in Jamestown, Kentucky.
Leon worked for Firestone for many years before retiring, then worked at IMI for 8 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 540. Leon loved traveling out west with his wife and taking boat rides. He enjoyed going deer hunting with his son, sons-in-law, grandsons, and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Diana Kay Chapman; children, Brenda Lynch, Ronald (Robin) Chapman, Rhonda (Gary) Ennis, and Melissa Chapman; grandchildren, Deven Crooks and Danielle Dewitt; great-grandchildren, Kaden Lynch, Payson Lynch, and Ambrielle Crooks; brothers, Bradford Chapman, Phillip Chapman, and Chester Chapman; sisters, Betty Collins, Zelda Marcum, Kathy Coe, and Ann Coe; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Christopher Lynch and Michael Anthony Crooks; and son-in-law, Donald Lynch.
