Lester “Donald” Heidler, longtime resident of Harleysville, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025 at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Wright) Heidler, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage on July 14th.
Born in Pennsburg, he was the son of the late Lester L. and Lotta (Miller) Heidler.
Don was a mechanical engineer and during his career he traveled both within the states and overseas. His one wish was that his family could have gone with him.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and greatly enjoyed his fishing trips with his friends to Canada.
He was a longtime member of White Ash Land Association, Souderton and Harleysville G.F.F.A.. Hawthorne Hunting Club and Shiloh Maccalla 558.
He leaves behind his loving family. Along with his wife, he is survived by his four children, Patti, Susan, Sandy and Scott; granddaughter, Brittney; great-granddaughters, Kacey and Savannah; sister-in-law, Sallie; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Heidler and wife, Joan; brother-in-law, William Wright, Jr.; and nephew, Thomas Wright.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (www.mymssa.com).
