L.J. Wilbanks, Jr., 68 passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at his residence in Amory. L.J. was born in Booneville, MS on August 23, 1957 to the late L.J. Wilbanks, Sr. and Sarah Ludie Hatcher Wilbanks. He was a graduate of Okolona High School, Class of 1975. He married Pamela Weatherford on March 21, 1980. L.J. honorably served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and retired after 20 years of service. He also worked at Sunshine Mills and later retired as a truck driver from Ashley Trucking. If you knew L.J., you knew that he loved everything Ole Miss from football to baseball and beyond, he was always rooting for the Rebels. If you weren't a Rebel fan, you can bet L.J. would give you grief about it. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his son. He and Pam loved to take trips together to the Mountains. L.J. enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of Van Vleet Baptist Church.
L.J. is survived by his sons, Josh Wilbanks (Terri), Amory and Zachery Wilbanks, Amory; brothers, Kenneth Wilbanks, Amory, Dale Wilbanks (Patricia), Amory and Bobby Wilbanks (Patti), Van Vleet; grandchildren, Chloe, Olivia and Judson Wilbanks; a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, L.J. Wilbanks, Sr. and Sarah Ludie Wilbanks, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Wilbanks.
A memorial Service will be held at a later date.
