L.M. Taylor, Jr (Lucius Marion), 82, of Pavo, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, the 2nd of November, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He was born on the 16th of March, 1943 in Colquitt County, Georgia, the youngest of nine children to the late Lucius Marion Taylor Sr. and Sessie Turner Taylor.
L.M. started a long and successful career in Tractor Sales in 1966 with Thomas Tractor Company. He started his own business in 1982 in Pavo, GA, T & H Sales and Salvage, with his brother-in-law, James Hart which became a well known and very successful business.
He loved his City of Pavo, where he served his town and community. L.M. joined the Pavo Fire Department in 1965, where he served many years as Chief. He also served on the Pavo City Council and many years as the Mayor. L.M. was a lifelong and faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.
L.M. is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-one years, Winona “Pearlie” Yowhn Taylor of Pavo, GA; one sister and one brother, Hazel Collins and Cecil Taylor both of Lakeland, FL; a sister-in-law, Pauline Taylor of Thomasville, GA and a number of nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers -in-law. In addition to his family he made many lifelong friends and associates all in Georgia, Florida and Alabama.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter; his six siblings: Robert, James, Floyd Taylor, Helen Rayburn, Earl Taylor and Lorene Humphries.
Memorials may be made in remembrance of L.M. Taylor to Fellowship Nashville Assisted Living Community, 1207 E. McPherson Ave., Nashville, GA 31639.
