A Home Going Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton. Burial will follow at the Sandhill Cemetery in Clinton.
A visitation will be held prior to the service at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
LA'SHAY LIVED IN FAYETTEVILLE, NC AND ATTENDED CAPE FEAR HIGH SCHOOL. LA`SHAY WAS KNOWN FOR HER INTELLIGENCE, HER BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT AND HER CONTAGIOUS SMILE THAT COULD LIGHT UP ANY ROOM. SHE WAS FULL OF DREAMS- ONE OF WHICH WAS TO BECOME A REGISTERED NURSE. SHE HAD A DEEP DESIRE TO HELP OTHERS, AND HER HEART OF GOLD SHOWED IN EVERYTHING SHE DID.
LA'SHAY LOVED HERSELF IN THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WAY. ALWAYS TAKING VIDEOS, CAPTURING MOMENTS AND SHOWING THE WORLD THE CONFIDENCE AND JOY THAT LIVED INSIDE HER. SHE LEFT BEHIND HUNDREDS OF SELFIES AND VIDEOS, EACH A REMINDER OF HER VIBRANT PERSONALITY. SHE ADORED HER SIBLINGS (ARIYANNA, KASSIDY AND MAR'TAVIOUS)AND SHARED AUNBREAKABLE BOND WITH THEM. HER LOVE FOR HER FAMILY WAS UNWAVERING AND HER KIND SWEET NATURE TOUCHED EVERYONE SHE MET.
THOUGH HER TIME WAS CUT SHORT LA'SHAY LEFT A UNFORGETTABLE MARK ON OUR LIVES. SHE WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERFOR HER LAUGHTER, HER LIGHT AND LOVE SHE GAVE SO FREELY.
LA'SHAY LEAVES TO CHEERISH HER PRECIOUS MEMORIES HER PARENTS KESHANA AND MAURIO SIMMONS, SIBLINGS ARIYANNA, MAR'TAVIOUS AND KASSIDY. MATERNALGRANDPARENTS MATTIE (ALVIN) SHIPMAN. PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS NATASHA(LINWOOD) STEPHENS, AUNTS TIAWANNA SHIPMAN AND KEOSHA SIMMONS, GREAT AUNTS MARTHA YOUNG, LAVERNE WILLIAMS, CYNTHIA SIMMONS, PEGGY TEACHEY, LATHRESHA SIMMONS, GREAT UNCLES KENNETH SIMMONS, ANTHONY (BARBARA) SIMMONS, GLENN(ANGELA) SIMMONS, MICHAEL SIMMONS, ARTHUR SHIPMAN, FRANKIE(BARBARA) YOUNG AND A GODBROTHER KE'MONI TEACHEY. GOD PARENTS TIFFANY(DOM) MCCORMICK, MURPHY(BRITTANI) MCKINNON, JACKEE(WILL) SHEA, AND MIKEALA HESTER. AND A HOST OF OTHER FAMILY & FRIENDS.
