LaDonna McIff

 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all, LaDonna McIff, age 73, of American Fork, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Provo. 

 LaDonna was born on June 24, 1951, in Gunnison, to Rex Hatch and Dona Denison McIff. LaDonna was raised in the small, close-knit town of Sterling, where she created cherished memories and friendships that would last a lifetime. Growing up alongside her four siblings and many cousins, LaDonna’s life was filled with love, laughter, and deep connections. Her family later moved north, where new opportunities awaited. 

 LaDonna graduated from Granger High School in 1969. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert H. Greene, on March 27, 1970. Together, they shared a deep love and had three beautiful children: two sons and a daughter. Although their marriage was cut short due to Bobby’s illness, their bond remained eternal. In a tender act of devotion and faith, LaDonna and Bobby were solemnized in the Mount Timpanogos Temple on March 12, 2022. 

 LaDonna’s second marriage was to Larry G. Hansen, who brought renewed joy and companionship into her life. Together, they welcomed her youngest daughter, whom LaDonna often referred to as her baby. Though their paths eventually diverged, the love they shared and the beautiful daughter they raised together remained a treasured part of her story. 

 At just 28 years old, LaDonna faced an unimaginable challenge when she suffered a life-altering stroke. Yet, her strength, determination, and unwavering love for her children became her guiding light. She refused to let her struggles define her and lived her life as a testament to resilience, courage, and unshakable faith. 

 In 1990, LaDonna returned to her beloved Sterling to be closer to her parents and the community she held dear. Here, she reconnected with and married Lafe Gail Ludvigson. Although they later divorced, her love for the Ludvigson family remains strong. LaDonna thrived in life’s simple joys—spending time with friends, attending church, fishing, and riding the west roads. As a proud member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, she honored her heritage by sharing stories of strength and perseverance. 

 As her health began to present challenges, LaDonna later moved closer to her daughters, who provided loving care and companionship. This allowed her to share laughs and create cherished memories with her children and grandchildren. She loved bingo and shopping at Hobby Lobby, where she could spend hours admiring the craft supplies, seasonal décor, and all things beautiful. LaDonna also loved the scent “A Thousand Wishes” from Bath & Body Works, which reflected her radiant and thoughtful personality. She adored getting her hair and nails done, and her bright, sparkling presence lit up every room she entered.

 Above all, LaDonna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her unconditional love and kindness were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is survived by her children: Darrin (Amy) Greene, Ephraim; David Greene, Sterling; Pamela (James) Howe, West Haven; and Jennifer (Ryan) Landefeld, Lehi; and her brothers: Paul (Charlotte) McIff and Roger (Lorraine) McIff. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren—Darrin Jr. (Stephanie), Karri, Brady, Dalton (Shaylee), Tristen, Dayton (Shayna), Halee (Ryker), Kayla, Morgan, and Bostyn—and her five great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

 LaDonna is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby; parents, Rex and Dona McIff; sister, Dorothy McIff Dawson; brother, Gary McIff. 

 The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the many doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Bel Aire Senior Living in American Fork. Their compassionate care and kindness brought comfort and dignity to LaDonna in her final years.

 LaDonna will be forever remembered for her strength, positive attitude, patience, sweet demeanor, and sense of humor. She made everyone feel seen and valued, creating friendships wherever she went. Her unwavering faith in her Savior brings comfort to her loved ones, who find peace in knowing they will see her again. She leaves behind a legacy of love, light, and resilience that will continue to inspire us all. 

 Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sterling Ward Chapel, 20 S. Main Street. Viewing at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Sterling City Cemetery. There will be a private viewing for family on Friday, January 17, from 6:00-7:00 PM at the Sterling Church.
