LADONNA STOCK Obituary

LADONNA STOCK 08/09/193 - 08/03/2025 A memorial service for LaDonna Stock of Granite Falls, formerly of Morris, was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Morris, with Reverend Reed Stockman officiating. Visitation was held from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 10 at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris and continued at the church on Monday one hour prior to the service. LaDonna Mae was born on August 9, 1935, to Lawrence and Ethel (Gode) Pieske in Charlestown Township, Redwood County. She attended country school through 8th grade, followed by Zion Lutheran Parochial School in Sanborn, graduating from Sanborn High School in 1953. After graduation, LaDonna moved with her parents to Fairfield Township in Swift County, where she met and married Duane Mahoney. Together they raised five children. LaDonna worked alongside her family on the farm, where she especially enjoyed gardening and the rural lifestyle. Once her children were in school, she pursued her certified nursing assistant (CNA) certification and began a new career, caring for others. In 1985, LaDonna married Lawrence Stock and made her home on the Stock homestead until 2002, when she moved to the Morris area. There she continued her work in home care and hospice, including the Courage Cottage. LaDonna had many interests: she enjoyed sewing, crafts, baking - she was known for her famous caramel rolls - and spending time with family. Her love of flowers and gardening was well known and she took joy in caring for the plants and blooms at West Central Homes, where she lived and celebrated her 80th birthday. She participated in games, puzzles, and social activities there and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Morris and the Morris American Legion Auxiliary. LaDonna spent the last 10 years of her life in the Granite Falls area. She passed away peacefully at Avera Granite Falls Care Center under the compassionate care of Vivie Hospice on August 3, 2025, six days short of her 90th birthday. LaDonna will be remembered for her kindness, strong work ethic, devotion to family, and her unwavering faith. LaDonna is survived by her five children: Ron (Deb) Mahoney of Edmond, Okla., Ray (Darlene) Mahoney of Shoreview, Jan (Lonnie) Anderson of Granite Falls, Brian (Steph) Mahoney of Waconia, Sheila (James) Radtke of Elbow Lake; eight grandchildren: Jessica (Ryan) Price, Brett Mahoney, Blaine (Lydia) Weber, Lyndsey (David) Eckhardt, Bre (Shawn) Regenscheid, Ben Mahoney, Faith (Jonah) Nelson, and Luke (McKenna) Goettle; five great-grandchildren: Renley Price, Breckyn Price, Emery Weber, Bristol Weber, and Molene Nelson; sister-in-law Arlene Pieske; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lawrence Stock; brothers: LuVerne (Joyce), DeLoss (Martha), and ElRoy Pieske; infant brother, Lawrence Jr.; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Donald (Marilyn) Mahoney, and Mary Lou (Pete) Woodard. I visited Ladonna quite often at the care center. A gentle soul. She liked to hold my hand. Sympathy to all.
