Wellman-LaDora Elizabeth Patterson was born October 17, 1927, in Keota, Iowa, the daughter of Bernard and Lulla (Baker) Redlinger. She graduated from Wellman High School. After graduation she worked as a Page in Washington D. C. during WWII.
LaDora was united in marriage to Willard (Pat) Patterson on April 6, 1947, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinross. She worked as a bookkeeper for Jaydon, the Coloring Book and Reggie’s Tire. LaDora was an avid golfer. She enjoyed cooking for her family, watching sports, and being a caretaker. She was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wellman and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed attending mass and seeing her church family. LaDora died Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington at the age of 96 years.
She is survived by four children, Randy (Mary) Patterson of Fayetteville, TN, Rusty Patterson of Mason City, Regina (Zaid) Frangul of Chandler, AZ and Reg Patterson of Wellman; six grandchildren, Nicole Patterson, Tina (Jeremy) Peck, Angie (Adam) Prince, Whitni (Tyler) Bish, Abbi Patterson and Lucas Frangul; nine great grandchildren, Paige (Kevin) Cortum, Rex, Stone, and Ace Peck, Wyatt, Walker, Weston, and Anna Prince and Noah Patterson; a great-great granddaughter, Brielle Cortum and a brother, Lindy Redlinger of Wellman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Bernard Jr and Ival Redlinger, a sister Margaret (Dolly) Miller and a grandson Andrew Patterson.
Funeral Mass will be 10: 30 am on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wellman. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for the Wellman Golf Course or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
