Lady Prier Obituary
Funeral Mass for Lady Jean Prier of Mansura will begin at 11:00am on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery in Mansura.
Lady Jean Prier, age 80, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center in Mansura.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Charlotte Prier Jenkins (James) of Mansura, Sara Lou Prier of Mansura, Bernadette Prier Pierite of Mansura, Bellruby Prier Griffin of Detroit, MI, and Melissa Prier of Detroit, MI. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilray Murray, Sr., and Isabella Augustine Murray; daughter, Jeanette Prier; brothers, Joseph V. Murray, Sr., Joseph Chris Murray; Hillary “Ray” Murray, Jr., Morris R. Murray, Sr.; sister, Angela Barton; and grandchildren, Jenna Prier, Lawrence Prier, and Kyra Clark.
Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 10:45am on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324), 6608 Porterie St., Mansura, LA 71350.
