Lafe Barnes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shadel's Colonial Chapel - Lebanon on Apr. 20, 2024.
Lafe DeWayne Barnes, son of Lafe Anton and Luella Wasmer Barnes, was born November 5, 1957, in Laclede County, Missouri and left the troubles of this world behind on April 17, 2024, at the age of sixty-six years.
DeWayne, as he was known to family and friends, had an unmatched zest for life. He enjoyed working with horses and tending to the farm. He was a true cowboy. DeWayne was talented in many aspects. He was crafty and creative. If he could visualize it, typically he could make it happen.
In his free time, he enjoyed camping and trying his luck at the casino. However, of all the things he loved about this life, time spent and memories shared with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, is what he treasured most.
DeWayne leaves to celebrate his memory, is survived by five children, Krista Lowrance and her husband Scott, Jason Barnes and his wife Mackenzie, Cindy Barnes and her husband Kevin, Nathan Barnes, and Caitlea Porch and her husband Brian, all of Lebanon, MO; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his fiancée Dolores Wilkerson of Seymour, MO; several brothers and sisters and their families; his fur-baby, his dog, "Rowdy"; other relatives and many friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents and several siblings.
DeWayne loved his family deeply and unconditionally. He will be greatly missed until we meet again.
Memorials have been suggested to DeWayne's family to help with expenses.
Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel. 1001 N. Lynn or P.O. Box 948, Lebanon, MO 65536.
