LaFon Cooper Baker
Born December 20, 1937, at Southside Hospital in Mesa, Arizona, to Alton and Stella Cooper, she was the oldest of five children. The Coopers lived in Kyrene, Arizona at the time of her birth. The family moved to Higley, Arizona after her sister Beverly was born. LaFon completed her first four years of school at Higley School District. She finished her elementary and high school years at Gilbert Schools, where she graduated in 1956. After completing her studies at Lamson Business College, she worked for Roosevelt Water Conservation District, and Tempe Elementary School District. She is survived by her husband Jim and sons Craig, Roy, and Scott of Chandler, and sisters Beverly Gamble of Purvis, Mississippi, and Cheryl Turner of Gilbert, Arizona. LaFon is predeceased by her parents and brothers Timothy and Steve.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 31, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mesa City Cemetery, 1212 N. Center Street, Mesa, AZ 85201.
