Lameka Marie Walker

Ms. Lameka Marie Walker passed away peacefully on August 24, 2024, to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and beloved friend to many.
Lameka was born in Muskegon, Michigan on Feb 11, 1976. She was born to Alice Marie Walker of Muskegon, Michigan, and David P. Washington of Chicago, Illinois.
Lamkea loved the church, she joined Walker's Temple Church of God In Christ under the late Rev Ulie J. Walker Sr., now known as Fresh Anointing Church of God In Christ, where she accepted Christ at an early age. Lameka was a mother of three beautiful children, Dequamar Walker of Greenville, SC, Kai'Mari Walker, and Zirmareeah Walker of Muskegon, MI. Having traveled and lived in multiple locations, Lameka made the City of Muskegon her home to be near family!
Lamkea was truly a Queen of all trades! From mastering the art of cosmetology, nail technician, singing, dancing, sewing, crafting, and whipping up gourmet meals, there seemed to be nothing Lameka couldn't do. Her versatility was matched only by her passion for helping others, no matter the task, always opening up her home to many. Whether it was fixing a broken appliance, offering sage advice, or brightening a room with her humor, Lamkea touched the lives of everyone she met.
Lameka loved to do things with her family. As expressed by an outpour of loving memories shared in the slideshow and photos. She took great interest in the lives of her children and loved ones, this brought her great joy.
Lameka never quit going or living her life and being a beautiful person; she never slowed down and she never stopped showing love.
Lameka was preceded in death by her father, David P. Washington, paternal grandmother, Elizabeth McKenzie, maternal grandfather, Matthew Walker, maternal grandmother, Lula Gant, and grandmother, Lillie Walker.
In addition to Lameka's beloved three children, she has left to cherish her memory her mother, Alice Walker, and her beloved siblings: Delisia Washington, Nikkita Walker, Ashanta Walker, Dalavius Walker, Dalexius Walker, Jaraquaisha Walker, Gary Walker, David P. Washington Jr., Elizabeth Washington, and Jeremiah Washington. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Lameka was loved and cherished by many; she will truly be missed by all of those whose lives she touched with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
