Lamel David Grant

Lamel David Grant was born on March 29, 1981, in Manhattan, New York, to Viola Grant, Lamel relocated to Jersey City, New Jersey. There, he was raised under the loving care and profound influence of his late grandmother, Catherine Peterson, whose guidance was instrumental in shaping the remarkable individual he became.

Lamel's commitment to education and personal growth was evident throughout his academic journey. He attended P.S. 34 and graduated from Henry Snyder High School in Jersey City. He furthered his studies at William Paterson University, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications, a testament to his intelligence, determination, and dedication to intellectual development.

Following his graduation, Lamel resided in Virginia for several years before establishing his home in Houston, Texas, in 2010, a city he embraced with great pride until his untimely passing. Professionally, Lamel excelled in various general manager roles, though he found particular fulfillment and passion as an Operations Manager for Safeway Driving School.

Lamel was a truly extraordinary individual, characterized by his loving nature, immense kindness, outgoing spirit, sharp wit, and exceptional intelligence. He possessed an unparalleled generosity of spirit, always willing to extend support and assistance, embodying a profound selflessness. His larger-than-life personality, infectious laughter, and unwavering encouragement created an atmosphere of warmth and upliftment, making everyone around him feel special and deeply valued. He was a steadfast cheerleader for those he believed in, and his dynamic energy left a lasting impression.

Lamel is survived by his cherished, brothers, Lamont and LaShawn Grant; his beloved dog, Koby; his godbrother, Pesha PJ Ama; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends across New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Texas, all of whom he held in the highest regard as his extended family.

While his physical presence will be deeply missed, Lamel's spirit, kindness, and unforgettable essence will forever resonate in the hearts and memories of those he touched. We will continue to celebrate his life and cherish the precious moments we shared.
