Lamel Tariq Spaulding

Lamel Tariq Spaulding, age 33, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025 at St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born on January 13, 1991 in Stamford, Connecticut to Lonnie Spaulding and Twindol James-Prater. In earlier years he resided in Norwalk, Stamford and Bridgeport, CT. then relocated to Paterson, NJ. He was educated in the public schools of Norwalk and Bridgeport, CT and graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson, NJ. Lamel was employed by his father for many years learning the trade of repairing and restoring leather and vinyl goods. He grew up in the House of Prophecies and Prayer Church under the leadership of Prophet Sadie Lee Miles. He attended Sunday school and participated in various church activities. He had special bonds with all of his family. Lamel had a laid-back calm attitude with a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Lamel's memory will be treasured by his father; Lonnie (Tasha) Spaulding of Bridgeport, CT., his mother; Twindol (Albert) Prater of Paterson, NJ, five brothers; Jerome Brooks of Paterson, NJ, Devin and Malcolm Spaulding of Greenville, NC, Terrell Spaulding of Paterson, NJ and Ronnie Spaulding of Bridgeport, CT, grandparents; Leroy (Jacqueline) Blackmon of Stamford, CT., Doretha (Ronnie) Carter of Stamford, CT., three aunts; Lashan James of Norwalk, CT., Doronda Carter of Stamford, CT. and Cynthia Policard of Hackensack, NJ., three uncles; Jerry Spaulding of Augusta, GA., Michael James of Stamford, CT. and James Blackmon of Los Angeles, CA, his godmother; Kim Hawkins, his godfather; Chandler Hawkins, godbrother; Demauria Grace and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 9:00 am – 10:00 am followed by a service of celebration at 10:00 am at House of Prophecies and Prayer Church, 2 Berkeley St., Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Stamford.
