Lana Testa Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Casper Funeral & Cremation Services on Jul. 11, 2024.
Lana Jean (Garceau) Testa, age 74, wife of David R. Testa of Mashpee, MA died Saturday July 6th, 2024 from injuries sustained in a car crash. Born in Framingham MA, daughter of The Late Arthur J. Garceau and The Late Angela J. (Decenzo) Garceau. She graduated from Milford High School Class of 1967. She was married to Dave "the love of her life" in 1968 and started a family.
In the 1970's Lana earned her Real Estate Broker's License, but decided to stay at home to raise her children. She began sewing dolls and making other colonial era crafts. By the mid-80's she was a well known Artisan exhibiting her whimsical seasonal creations at Craft Shows across the country.
Her works have been featured in many magazines. Lana had an eye for detail and a passion for collecting primitive antiques. Lana and Dave's "Cape Cod Retirement Home" has been featured in many magazines including "A Primitive Place", "A Simple LIfe" (Fall 2020) "Country Sampler", and two Judy Condon books.
Lana loved going on vacations to warm sunny destinations but mostly enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband of 56 years, she leaves her two "wonderful" sons Todd D. Testa and wife Beth of Milford, and Dustin A. Testa and wife Heather of Mendon, four "sweet" grandchildren Lindsey, Lauren, Ashley, and Joe Testa. She was predeceased by her "loving" brother Art Garceau of FL. She also leaves a large extended family and many close friends around the country.
Memorial services are planned to be held some time in the future.

Lana and I met through the Red Hat Society but it wasn't long before we had a special friendship aside from the group.
We spent countless hours (often, well into the night) chatting on the phone, sharing life... commiserating, supporting, laughing, crying, and just being us.
Friends across the miles.
My heart is breaking for David, the love of her life, and Todd, Beth, Lindsey, Ashley and Dustin, Heather, Lauren and Joe, all the sparkling lights that lit Lana's life.
I can imagine how this is impacting each of you, each in your own way. I extend my heartfelt sympathy and I ask the universe to surround you with love and compassion, comfort and strength as you begin each new day.

And dear Lana, we so often wished we could call our Mom. I hope that you fell gently from this tragic event into the loving arms of your Mom and Dad.
Thank you for being a friend, across the miles.
Til we meet again, I will treasure your memory.

Lana and I know one another from the primitive world. We would speak often on her creations, her and Dave's beautiful home, their extravagant trips, their delicious meals, trying to lose weight, what it is like being a diabetic, still trying to enjoy food and be happy. She spoke of Dave often about how he was retired and how he was a great cook. She would even mention that he would spoil her so much and fix her whatever she would ask for to eat. She loved him so much and seeing all of the pictures of the two of them, it is truly evident. She will definitely be missed in the primitive world. Even though we never got to meet, I treasured our friendship and appreciated her very much. Rest easy my dear friend, you will be missed.

I'm sad to say that I did not know Lana well. I met her many years ago at a country gift show. I always looked forward to seeing her latest primitive creations and purchasing them for my customers. I enjoyed her FB posts and photos of her home in country books and magazines. This sweet and talented lady will be greatly missed.

I met Lana in the early 60’s when she moved to Milford from Framingham. We became fast friends and shared our teenage years together.
Years later we went our separate ways but always remained close buddies.
She and David met at the Patrician restaurant where Dave worked at the soda fountain.

This May we met again at the retirement party held for their sons, Todd and Dustin at the same venue where the veteran’s were honoring my late brother Bill for his service.
Needless to say , Lana and Dave looked the same to me as when we were younger.
I thank God We had a chance to reconnect .,

David I am hoping for your recovery.
Sad for us all in losing such a well-loved woman.

S!incerely and in friendship.

Oh Lana, i just cannot believe this is happening. We just spoke and now i´m at a loss for words. I am, however, so happy that you & your lifelong honey, Dave got to spend the fourth in one of your happiest places on earth. The world is a little more empty without you. So glad we reconnected in recent years. Im left with beautiful memories of our wonderful conversations about our families. We had lots of catching up to do but we did it! Rest in Peace until we meet again. Love always, i will surely miss you dear cousin. Deb

I don't know what to say. I'm thinking of all of you and sending prayers your family's way. I just found her on Facebook last year and I knew she was special. I loved chatting with her and reading all her post. For someone I didn't I know personally I'm so sad. What a special person.

Hi
I didn´t know Lana personally but always admired her work and loved seeing her home. I really felt devasted when I found out about her, just seeing her through the years on Facebook....that her life was taken so tragically and my heart goes out to her husband (hope he is going to be OK) and family. There are no words to take the pain away, but keep her in your hearts, and know that she is by your side.

To Lana´s friends and family I send my sincere condolences. I had become friends with Lana through Facebook. Purchasing many of her creations. I did not know Lana personally but did share many chats with her. You could tell the type of person she was by her stories, and the sharing of many of her adventures. A kind and loving woman. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
