Lance E. “Skip” Johnson II, 47, of Dilworth, MN, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, in his home.
Lance Eide Johnson II was born April 27, 1977, the son of Lance E. and Judy E. Johnson, in Moorhead, MN. He was raised in Dilworth where he was baptized at Dilworth Lutheran Church and attended school. During his high school years Lance raced sailboats in conjunction with the Junior Sailing School Sponsored by the Pelican Lake Yacht Club.
From a young age, Lance exhibited a remarkable talent for woodworking and evolved into an exceptional cabinet maker. His creativity extended to a fascination with classic inboard mahagany speedboats, inspiring him to craft bars in the shape of the sterns of the iconic boats. Additionally, he assisted his brother, Mike, in tuning and repairing pipe organs, showcasing his diverse skill and interests.
Lance's favorite place to be was at the family cabin on Pelican Lake. He loved fishing, boating, bonfires and spending time with friends and family. He was always willing to help neighbors at the lake and in town, many of whom became lifelong friends. He had a heart of gold and will be missed.
He is survived by his father, Lance; siblings, Michael (Kelly) Johnson, Fargo, ND, Gregg (Joelle) Pechacek, Mandan, ND, Suzanne (Tobyjoe) McCasland, Coeur d’Alene, ID, Joseph (Gloria) Pechacek, Jacksonville, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy in 2023; and sisters, Nichole Johnson, and Dr. Marilou Pechacek Sollom.
Lance will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
