Landen Cole Harris, 19, passed away on August 9, 2023. Landen was born in Grapevine Texas to Beau and Liza Harris on March 11, 2004. Landen attended Monahans High School and swam for the Monahans Swim Team. He was an accomplished swimmer and qualified for the State Swim Championship as part of the medley relay. He loved the backstroke and was district backstroke champion his junior year. He also helped with swim club in the evenings and coached many of the young swimmers we have today. He graduated in the top 10% of his class and swam for McMurry University for a semester. He finished his second semester of college at Tarleton State University. Landen had a selfless heart and was always there to help others. He had a love for eclectic music, crazy socks, and didn't eat his first hamburger until he was a freshman in high school because everyone can attest to him being a picky eater. Landen is survived by his parents Beau and Liza Harris, brother Braylon Harris, grandparents Margo Magness, Jose and Cindy Ortiz, numerous aunts and uncles Dawn (Ruben) Santiago, Misty (Javier) Aleman, Kathy Ortiz, Dante Ortiz, honorary Tias Dora Izaguirre, Patti Ramos and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Ayden Calixto, Daniel Flores, Connor Heflin, John Haas, Kenneth Ramsey, Jake Torma, and Rey Lozania.
The funeral will be held at First Baptist Church at 10:00 am, August 14, 2023 with Dr. Chris Powell officiating. Burial will follow at Tamarisk Cemetery in Grandfalls Texas. The family of Landen Harris would like to extend our sincere thanks to Chad and Heidi Branham, Gordon and Camilla Blum, Patty Acosta, Monahans High School, Walker Jr. High, MWP ISD, First Baptist Church, all the family and friends who have taken the time to send and share their thoughts and prayers, and the amazing community of Monahans.

I am so incredibly sorry for you, your family, and Landens friends loss.
The week he and Ayden came to Colorado was a great week. Landen was such a kind, smart, and hysterical young man. And his love for crazy socks was so fun. I´m glad I had the opportunity to get to know him. He will definitely be missed. Prayers and strength to you all.
