Laniece B. Baker, of Ironton, MO, entered Heaven on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 89 years and 9 days. She was born October 15, 1936, in Wood River, IL, a daughter of the late Lavier "L.D." and Bernice (Woods) Humphrey.
On May 18, 1956, Laniece was united in marriage to Richard Arnold Baker who preceded her in rest on April 8, 2017. To this union two children were born, Arnold "Buzz" Baker who preceded in rest on November 9, 2019, and Terri Matthews and husband Johnny of Ironton, MO who survives. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Kasey Miller and Arnold Baker, Jr., three bonus grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, and Ashley; eight great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and many more loving family members, church family, travel companions, and friends.
Laniece is preceded in rest by her husband, Arnold, her son, Buzz, two grandchildren, Candy and Heather, and a brother, Don Humphrey.
As a young woman, Laniece worked in retail security and theft prevention for Target and Venture. She was a member of the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church, a member of the Red Hats, she loved travelling with Arnold in their camper before his passing, loved crafting, painting, and tending to her beautiful flower garden. Laniece was a devoted Christian and loved her Lord with all of her heart. She prayed for her friends and family daily, and would share the Word with everyone, because she loved and cared for everyone.
Laniece B. Baker was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, church family member, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am, from the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church.
A Visitation for friends and family to gather will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, beginning at 5:00 pm and lasting until 8:00 pm from the Iron Mountain First Baptist Church.
Interment will follow the services in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.
Rev. John Canterberry will be officiating the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to the AV Food Pantry in Laniece's memory and honor.
