Joseph Baker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Davis-Becker Funeral Home - Struthers (AKA Davidson-Becker) on Jan. 1, 2026.
Joseph B. Baker, 98, of North Lima, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Born October 9, 1927, in Youngstown, Joseph was a son of the late Michael and Anna (Dill) Baker.
On November 20, 1947, he married the love of his life, the former Bronica R. Kolmacic. Together, they shared 75 beautiful years of marriage. Joseph and Bronica have been lovingly reunited following her passing on October 24, 2023.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army. He dedicated several years as a cranes man for Youngstown Sheet and Tube. He was a faithful member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and was also a member of Steelworkers Union Local 2163.
From a young age, Joseph enjoyed working on cars, a passion that later evolved into tinkering with lawn mowers and small engine repairs. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns, always cheering on his favorite teams.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joel M. (Mary) Baker, of North Lima.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Baker, Margaret Hanuschak, Ethel Martin, Eleanor Naymick, and Helen Pachuta.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 764 Fifth Street, Struthers, with Fr. Edward Noga officiating.
Joseph will be laid to rest beside his wife at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery.
