Lanny Gemmel, 55, of Des Moines died Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Mercy One Hospital in Des Moines. Per his request, no services are planned. Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.
Landon Jay Gemmel, son of Michael and Donna (Zajicek) Gemmel, was born August 31, 1969 in Mason City. He graduated from Webster City high school. He served in the United States Army National Guard serving in the Gulf War. On September 2, 1995, Lanny was united in marriage to Susan Kay Eppard in Ankeny.
He is survived by his wife, Susan of Des Moines; mother, Donna Hassebrock of Albert Lea, MN; mother-in-law, Nancy Pilcher of Ankeny and brother, Mike Gemmel of Albert Lea, MN.
Lanny was preceded in death by his father, Michael Gemmel and stepfather, Morris Hassebrock.
