Jolene was born on August 22, 1958 in Lamesa, Texas to Daniel and LaQuita Nelson. She grew up on the farm and loved seeing cotton in bloom and of full heads of maize. She graduated from Seminole High School. She received her bachelor's degree from College of the Southwest and a Masters of Education from Sul Ross State University. She taught school in Andrews where she lived with her husband Howard for 27 years until retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Bynum; son, Keith Bynum; daughter, Joni Bynum and granddaughter Joli Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her parents Daniel and LaQuita Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donation to Samaritans Purse.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.
