Larry Dayton Adams, 77, of Payne, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Lutheran Hospital Downtown.
Larry was born in Fairfield, Iowa on December 12, 1946, a son of the late June (Harvey) & Francis Adams.
Larry was a dedicated postal service special clerk. Outside of work, he was once a member of the Vallejo Stamp Club and the Kiwanis Club. Larry enjoyed model trains, science fiction books, and music from the 50s and 60s. He also enjoyed working on cars with his father, and later building computers with his son. Larry served his home town, American Canyon, water board and fire board, and was even a part of helping his town become incorporated. His family will always cherish the memory of Larry's tie collection and how he would often be driving with his knees while trying to tie his tie on the way to an event. His greatest days were the birth of his children and grandchildren and the day he married his wife, Mary Ann, to whom he was devoted for 54 years. Hardworking and deeply loving, Larry cherished his family above all else, always going the extra mile for both his loved ones and his community.
Larry will be sadly missed by his wife, Mary Ann; children, Danial Adams, of Oakland, CA & Laurel (Dan) Lehman, of Antwerp, & grandchildren, Alexandra & Danica Lehman.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Gail.
Service will be Monday, June 24th at 3 PM with viewing one hour prior, at Dooley Funeral Home, Payne.
He will be laid to rest privately in Napa Valley Memorial Gardens in California.
