Larry Angle
Larry Angle, son of the late Champ Woodrow Angle and Florence B. (Poe) Angle was born on April 17, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed his life on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 82 years.
He started as a employee at Farmers and Merchants Bank in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on July 24 1961 from 1961-1986 and then at Union Planters Bank from 1987-2000. Larry worked for The Bank of Missouri from 2001 until his retirement in 2023. In June of 2011 he was inducted into the Missouri bankers Foundation 50-year club. Larry served the community in many capacities; he was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City where he served as financial officer as well as other services. He worked with Scott City Food Pantry and was a member of the Kiwanis Club for over 20 years where he started the Kiwanis 8th grade basketball tournament over 50 years ago. He was a member of the SEMO Seniors Golf association and was an avid golfer as a member at the Jaycees Golf Course. His greatest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren growing up and participating in their sports.
On October 26, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lillian Welter in New Hamburg, Missouri. Mrs. Angle survives of the home in Scott City.
Along with his wife, survivors include two daughter, Cheryl (Derick) Heisserer of Kelso and Kelly (Kerry) Glueck of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, Jordon (Courtney) Glueck, Cody (Annie) Heisserer, Megan (Carter) Dame, Dylan (Jordon) Glueck, and Logan (Kenzie) Heisserer; three great-grandchildren and two more on the way.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Angle, Dorma “Sonny” Angle, and Jimmy Angle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 8:00 AM with Rosary Prayers at 9:30 AM and funeral mass starting at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with Father Tom Wilk officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
