Larry Jerome Baker

Larry Jerome Baker, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025, at UH TriPoint Medical Center. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 7, 1952.
Larry's spirit is carried on by his loving wife, Deborah (nee: Mosley) Baker, and his cherished children: Larry J. Baker, Nicole Calhoun, Bessie Noble, Patricia Noble, Alexis (Charles) Gilmore, and Nicia Noble II. He also leaves behind a legacy through his grandchildren – Shaka, DaeDae, Zyhanna Cahill, Benjamin Britt, Neimen, Nigell Booker, Romeo, Antonio, Romero Noble, and Torrey, Aleah, Hailey Baker, Mustafa Calhoun – and great-grandchildren, Alana and Hera Firestine. Additionally, he will be fondly remembered by his siblings Robert (Wilma) Pulley, James Dillard, Evelyn (Arthur) Giddings, Michael Baker, Barbara Walsh, Jessie Gaines, Marvin (Hope) Baker, and Anita Renee Martin; and former spouse, Diann Baker. Larry's journey preceded that of his parents, Harvey and Rosie L. (nee: Dent) Baker, his sons Jerome and Robert Noble, his previous wife, Nicia Noble Baker, and his brother Dwight Baker.
Before retiring, Larry served as a dedicated truck driver and was also a proud veteran of the Air Force. His work was only one aspect of his full life, as he helmed various roles, including coaching basketball and baseball, and participating in the Boy Scouts, passing on his values of leadership and community involvement to younger generations.
A man of many interests, Larry enjoyed trucking across the country, casting his line into serene waters while fishing, exploring new horizons through travel, and contributing his time and talents to the Union Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2025 from 10:00am until the funeral service at 11:00am at New Hope Baptist Church, 428 W. Jackson Street, Painesville.
