Larry Allen Banks, 70, of Blountville TN, went to be with the Lord September 29, 2025 at the University of Tennessee Hospital.
He was born on December 28, 1954 in Lynch Kentucky to the late Astor and Mary Banks. Larry was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle.
Larry was a devoted child of God and was a faithful member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and choir. He was a hard worker and retired from General Shale after more than 38 years of dedicated employment. He loved to sing with his family for many years. Larry loved to read his Bible while praying on the back porch. He loved to give back by volunteering at the Elizabethton TLC Center. He loved to feed his birds. He love to watch a great episode of Blue Bloods while eating his snack cakes. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sister Carol and husband Gene Harkness, his brother Roger Banks, Nephew Shayne Banks, Nephew Mark and wife Lindsay Trent and Brother in Law Don Barker.
He is survived by his wife Janice, his children Heather Banks, Misty Banks, Tiffany Musser, Bradley Long (Olivia), Shawn Musser, a special adopted daughter Tamara Foster and his grandchildren Jake Anderson and Zachary Owens.
He is also survived by his siblings; Johnny Banks (Darlene), Paulette Caldwell (Dana), Debbie Dye (Ken), Marianne Tompkins (Phil), Danny Banks (Cathy) and Amanda Barker. He has several special nieces and nephews: Jackie, Jenny, Julie, Jonathon, Chris, Stephen, Greg, Jeff, Josh, Caleb, Crystal, Alexander, April, Adam, Nova and Trey. As well as many more he loved and cherished.
Larry will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering love of Jesus and his love for his family. His laughter, whit and wisdom were gifts to everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church. All friends and family are invited to attend Saturday October 4th, 2025. The family will receive family and friends from 2 pm - 4pm and a service will follow at 4 pm officiated by special nephew Stephen Caldwell and Assistant Pastor of Sunnyside Baptist David Luster.
Honorary Pallbearers- Greg Pierson, Adam Barker, Caleb Banks, Alexander Worthington, Jason Haas, Chris Caldwell, Riveur Caldwell, Shawn Musser and Josh Banks.
