Clyde "Worley" Taylor, 88, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. Worley was born on July 10, 1937, in Church Hill where he spent his entire life surrounded by family, friends, and a community that loved him deeply. Known for his kind heart and quiet strength, he lived a long and meaningful life, bringing joy and comfort to everyone who knew him. Worley was a man who cherished his family above all. His presence, stories, and quiet wisdom will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
Worley was preceded in death by his mother, Ella Mae Derreck; father, Barney Vincent Taylor; brothers, Roy, Earl, and Bud Taylor; and his beloved grandchildren, Trinity Taylor and Brandy Mullins.
He is survived by his loving life partner, Dorris "Irene" Taylor; daughter, Patricia Kilgore; sister, Edith Skeens; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Sellers, Hope Ford, and Faith Ford; and great-great-grandchildren, Trinity Miller, Elsie Ressler, and Peyton Miller. He also leaves behind many extended family members and special friends who will miss him dearly.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service to honor Worley’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Glenn Stewart, Jr. officiating. Burial to follow at Old Union Methodist Church in Church Hill, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes prayers, memories, and stories shared in remembrance of Worley.
