A Mass of Christian burial for Larry Eugene Bayonne will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church at Isle Brevelle.  The family will receive friends for a visitation Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the church with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:30 a.m.

Mr. Larry Bayonne was the eldest son born to Ernest Joseph Bayonne, Jr. and Theresa Earlene Bayonne on August 30th, 1964. Larry was born and raised in a nurturing home in south central Los Angeles, California, along with his two brothers. Upon his birth and during his formative years, Larry was baptized and received his Christian education at the Mother of Sorrows Elementary School.

Growing up, Larry attended and graduated from Verbum Dei High School where he was a stand-out athlete on their championship football team. Larry would remain strongly connected to his late Coach and fellow teammates all throughout his life. It was during his matriculation at Verbum Dei that Larry was known for his love of music, meticulous attention to his attire, and flair for dancing, which manifested in a successful career as a DJ for events within the local community and the club and entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Larry's professional pursuits allowed him to meet many celebrities from singer Madonna to Rapper/Actor Ice T, and many others that would eventually take him to Atlanta, Georgia then on to return home to his familial roots in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

It was in Natchitoches that Larry would discover his final career path as an entrepreneur. Learned from his father Ernest, Larry would develop and hone his skills building fences and eventually founded Bayonne Fencing. Larry's work can be seen throughout the City and he is considered a very well respected and successful local business owner beloved by everyone he came in contact with.

During his nearly sixty years on earth, Larry was an avid sports enthusiast and was especially passionate about his favorite Los Angeles franchise team, the LA Kings. He loved classic muscle cars, vehicle restoration, listening to every genre of music from classical rhythm and blues to Hip Hop. He had total recall for nearly every sample, every beat, every rhythm, rhyme and verse to every song that grazed his ears. He was a musical encyclopedia.

His greatest love though would always be for his family, especially his parents for whom he cared for and the multitude of friends with whom he shared so many great memories. Larry touched the lives of a vast number of people with his spirited sense of humor, his candid and authentic personality and generosity. Larry simply never met a stranger. He was always willing to assist anyone he came in contact with. He was greatly loved by his children and countless individuals. He was a big guy with an even bigger heart for those who knew him well. He was always the one to call you and check on you and he was fiercely loyal. He personified John 15:13, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."

On one of the holiest of days, Christmas morning, December 25, 2023, Larry made his last journey towards home and transitioned to his final resting place. Larry will forever and lovingly be remembered by his parents, Ernest and Theresa, his two brothers , Kevin and Joe, his children, Brett, Nia, Lauren, and Amy, his beloved niece Karsen, devoted aunts and uncles and countless cousins, and his extended family and friends who were blessed to know him. His mother and father were never in need as a result of his provisioning. His spirit and legacy, however, will continue to live on through all of us.
